Singapore’s skyline, with its unique blend of modern skyscrapers, iconic structures and heritage monuments, tells the story of the city-state’s development over the years. Today it stands as one of the world’s most distinctive. Yet this stunning cityscrape would not have been possible without the unrelenting efforts of companies such as JPN Industrial Trading Pte Ltd (JPN), which has been contributing in its own way to building modern Singapore for over three decades.
This history of JPN began in 1988, their technical expertise, rapport with customers and attractive rates drew a steady stream of clients but, being a newly established business, JPN initially had to limit its services to repairing small machinery such as generators and air compressors. However, as the young company began making a name for itself, it gradually expanded its offerings to include repair services for larger machinery, including excavators, cranes and bulldozers. Through it all, JPN upheld its service commitments of quality work, service excellence and affordable rates.
The construction industry is a highly competitive one and, even as the company prospered, the founders knew they had to look for ways to extend their brand further. They identified two new strategies that could help strengthen JPN’s product offering: selling refurbished machinery and regional distributors for leading machinery manufacturers. This marked the next stage of the company’s development.
Determined to position JPN as a regional player, the brothers also searched for opportunities in neighbouring Malaysia in 1991, JPN Industrial Trading Sdn Bhd was formed in Kuala Lumpur. This was followed by P&N Industrial Trading Sdn Bhd in Johor in 1994 and three years later, by JPN Equipment (East Coast) Sdn Bhd in Terengganu. By 1997, with operations in the central, southern and eastern parts of Malaysia, JPN is now a strong contender in the country’s construction industry.
